Resident Involvement
LO EMB offers a range of opportunities for residents to get involved in the management of their homes and the estate community. The Loughborough EMB Board is made up of 12 residents - tenants and leaseholders. All residents are encouraged to influence and get involved in the decision making processes:
by completing and returning survey / questionnaires
by joining focus groups that will be set up to monitor and have input in the various services
by becoming a mystery shopper to help monitor the services provided by URH organisations
by letting staff and board members know your complaints
by letting staff and board members know what you like about the service and any ideas you have for improving the services provided
by becoming a board member
LO EMB also produces a newsletter, which is delivered to residents 3 times a year. Additionally there are notice boards in each block entrance. The newsletter and notice boards keep residents up to date with news and information as well as meetings and social events. We want more residents to get involved with the management of the estate. You do not need to be a board member
You can:
help to monitor the services
become a Block Champion
give your ideas for service development
give ideas for community and development activities
help to organise community development activities
We will:
provide free training for board members
operate an expense system so that participating residents are not out of pocket
develop ways of involving young people
provide help, support and advice for residents’ activities that aim to increase involvement and participation
support older residents
facilitate community events
To become a shareholder only costs 50p and gives you the right to vote for committee members and/or be nominated as a board member.
